Cut off low means a gray and at time wet week

Kind of a tricky forecast this week as a Low pressure system will just sit over Missouri for several days. The difficult part of forecasting with this situation is determining how much moisture will reach our area and when. Waves of rain will pivot around this disturbance but the heaviest will fall to our south and west. If you are in Pontiac, Kankakee or Peotone you will likely see 1 to 2 inches of rain this week. If you are in Woodstock, Antioch or Gurnee you will likely see less than 1/2 inch of rain through Thursday. The rest of us should see somewhere from 1/2 to 1 inch of rain.

  The rain will come in intervals that last several hours but there will at least as many dry hour as wet ones. The good news is that this disturbance will move out by next weekend and we should enjoy some decent weather for Friday through Sunday.

A Drier week Ahead

The overall wet pattern we endured in October is changing and we should see much drier conditions for the first part of November. An overall west to east pattern will mean that the next several storm systems will not be able to tap into gulf moisture so only light precipitation is possible.

 While we don't see any big storms we do expect some very chilly conditions Tuesday into Wednesday. Matter of fact it could be cold enough that there might be a few wet snowflakes early Wednesday morning.

For those not ready for wintry weather there is some good news. By late in the week a strong southwest wind will pull milder weather northeastward and we could see temps up around 60 both days next weekend.
